The toolkit has over 160 “elements”

An element is a relatively discrete piece of knowledge or skill that we think an active citizen, or an active citizenship group might need.

For each element we’ve got a brief (one paragraph) description which talks about what it is and what happens if you don’t have it.

There is then a paragraph describing what having the element at the four levels (novice, practitioner, expert and ninja) would be.

After that, there’s an “element overview essay”, which talks about

a) the barriers to having the element

b) the consequences of not having it

c) some free advice about getting the element.

THEN there are lists of development resources (how to get to the next level) and assessment resources (how to figure out if you are indeed there). Except that for MANY of the elements, we don’t yet have those…
